This Spaghetti Stuffed Garlic Bread combines two classic favorites—spaghetti and garlic bread—into one mouthwatering dish. The hearty meat sauce and pasta are nestled inside a crispy, buttery garlic bread loaf and topped with melted cheese for a comforting, savory treat perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients:
- 1 (16 oz) Italian bread loaf
- Butter & garlic powder for the bread
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 7 oz uncooked spaghetti
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, divided in half
- 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese, divided in half
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning, generous
- 1 tsp salt + a pinch
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pasta:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large saucepan, boil the spaghetti until al dente, then drain and set aside. - Cook the Meat Sauce:
While the pasta is cooking, brown the ground beef and sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion while browning the meat. Once the meat is browned, drain off any excess fat and return the meat mixture to the skillet. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well and simmer for 5-8 minutes. Stir in the cooked pasta, mixing to combine. Remove from heat. - Prepare the Garlic Bread Loaf:
While the meat sauce is simmering, cut the Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise using a bread knife. Carve out the center of each half, removing the bread to create a large hollow in each half. Brush the inside and sides of the hollows with butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Toast the bread in the oven for a few minutes until golden. - Assemble the Stuffed Bread:
Once the bread is toasted, spoon the prepared spaghetti and meat sauce into the hollowed-out halves, filling them completely (you may have extra spaghetti and sauce left over). Top each half with half of the divided mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. - Bake:
Bake the stuffed bread at 375°F for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. - Serve:
Remove from the oven and gently cut with a bread knife to serve. Enjoy the delicious combination of pasta, meat sauce, and cheesy garlic bread!
