- For the Garlic Butter Spread:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, very soft
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- For Assembly:
- 8 slices white bread
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese
- 6 ounces pepperoni
- Warm pizza sauce for dipping
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
- Spread the butter mixture evenly over one side of each slice of bread. Place the slices butter side up on a sheet tray until ready to use.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet. Layer with a slice of mozzarella, followed by 6 pepperoni slices, another slice of mozzarella, 6 more pepperonis, and a final slice of mozzarella.
- Top with another slice of bread, butter side up. (You may have leftover pepperoni.)
- Cover the skillet with a lid to help melt the cheese. Cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-5 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula, cover again, and continue cooking until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve immediately with warm pizza sauce for dipping and enjoy!
