Ingredients
This simple yet flavorful dip is made with just a handful of ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups sour cream (you can use light, but full-fat is best)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (sharp cheddar for bold flavor)
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (adds depth of flavor)
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Cook the Bacon
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
- Once cooled, crumble into small pieces.
Step 3: Mix the Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the crumbled bacon, saving a little for garnish.
Step 4: Bake Until Golden
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle a little extra shredded cheese on top for a golden crust.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with green onions and reserved bacon.
- Serve warm with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
