If you love flaky pastries, creamy fillings, and fresh fruit, then this Strawberry Danish is just for you! Made with buttery puff pastry, a sweet cream cheese filling, and juicy strawberries, this bakery-style pastry is surprisingly easy to make at home.

    Ingredients

    For the Pastry:

    • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
    • 1 egg (for egg wash)
    • 1 tablespoon milk

    For the Cream Cheese Filling:

    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

    For the Topping:

    • ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam (for glazing)
    • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for drizzle)
    • 1 teaspoon milk or cream

    Instructions

    1. Prepare the Pastry

    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Cut puff pastry into squares (about 4×4 inches).

    2. Make the Cream Cheese Filling

    • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth.

    3. Assemble the Danish

    • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
    • Layer fresh strawberry slices on top.

    4. Create the Edges

    • Lightly fold or twist the edges of the pastry to keep the filling in place.

    5. Apply Egg Wash & Bake

    • Whisk egg and milk, then brush the edges of the pastry for a golden finish.
    • Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown and puffy.

    6. Glaze & Drizzle

    • Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a drizzle.
    • Brush warm strawberry jam over the fresh strawberries for shine.
    • Drizzle with sugar glaze for extra sweetness.
