Ingredients
For the Pastry:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk

- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
For the Topping:
- ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 tablespoon strawberry jam (for glazing)
- ¼ cup powdered sugar (for drizzle)
- 1 teaspoon milk or cream
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pastry
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut puff pastry into squares (about 4×4 inches).
2. Make the Cream Cheese Filling
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth.
3. Assemble the Danish
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Layer fresh strawberry slices on top.
4. Create the Edges
- Lightly fold or twist the edges of the pastry to keep the filling in place.
5. Apply Egg Wash & Bake
- Whisk egg and milk, then brush the edges of the pastry for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown and puffy.
6. Glaze & Drizzle
- Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a drizzle.
- Brush warm strawberry jam over the fresh strawberries for shine.
- Drizzle with sugar glaze for extra sweetness.
