  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Sear the brisket (optional but adds flavor): Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear brisket on both sides until nicely browned (2โ€“3 minutes per side).

  2. Place sliced onions and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire, soy sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over the brisket.

  4. Place brisket on top of the onions, fat side up.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 8โ€“10 hours or high for 5โ€“6 hours, until fork-tender.

  6. Transfer brisket to a cutting board and let it rest for 10โ€“15 minutes. Slice against the grain.
