8 cups Crispix cereal

2 cups pecan halves (salted recommended)

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup corn syrup

½ cup butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp baking soda

Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).

In a large bowl, combine cereal and pecans.

In a saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring.

Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda (mixture will foam).

Pour caramel over cereal and pecans. Toss to coat evenly.

Transfer to a 9×13″ baking dish. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.

Spread on parchment to cool. Break into pieces and enjoy.
