Nutella French Toast Roll-Ups

Ingredients

  • 8 slices white or wheat bread

  • 4 tbsp Nutella

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 1 large egg (or 2 medium)

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

  • 3 tbsp sugar (for coating)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • Maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Trim crusts from bread and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.

  2. Spread about ½ tbsp of Nutella on each slice and roll tightly.

  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together milk, egg, sugar, and vanilla.

  4. In another bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar.

  5. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  6. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, then sauté until golden on all sides (about 2 minutes total).

  7. Immediately roll in cinnamon sugar.

  8. Serve warm with maple syrup if desired.
