Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Toppings:
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 12-15 slices pepperoni (cut into heart shapes)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or fresh basil
Instructions
1. Make the Pizza Dough
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 30-45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
2. Shape the Pizzas
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thick.
- Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes from the dough.
- Place the hearts onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
3. Add the Toppings
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over each heart-shaped dough piece.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously on top.
- Cut pepperoni slices into heart shapes using scissors or a small cutter and place them on top.
- Sprinkle with oregano or basil for extra flavor.
4. Bake the Pizzas
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
