Instructions
- Prepare the Oven and Pan:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- Make the Cake Batter:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter, mixing until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Add the Cinnamon Swirl:
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Drop by spoonfuls over the cake batter, then use a knife to swirl through the batter.
- Bake the Cake:
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely.
- Prepare the Frosting:
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, beating until creamy.
- Spread over the cooled cake.
