Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pineapple
- Peel, core, and slice the fresh pineapple into rings or chunks.
- Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Step 2: Make the Sugar Syrup
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat.
- Stir until sugar dissolves, then bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add pineapple slices and simmer for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3: Dry the Pineapple
- Remove pineapple slices and place them on a wire rack to dry for 12–24 hours.
- Optionally, roll in extra sugar for a crystallized effect.
Step 4: Serve & Store
- Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
