½ cup butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 egg

2¾ cups Bisquick baking mix

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (6 oz)

½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
Notes

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and egg until well combined.

Stir in Bisquick mix, chocolate chips, and nuts (if using).

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly.

Bake for 8–10 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on the pan briefly, then transfer to a cooling rack.
