Apple Cider Doughnut Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25 oz) box Yellow Cake Mix or Spice Cake Mix
  • 1 cup apple cider (not apple juice or vinegar)
  • ½ cup cinnamon applesauce (not chunky)
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (or more to taste)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup melted but

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, cider, applesauce, eggs, ¼ tsp cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla.
  3. Pour into a well-greased and floured bundt pan.
  4. Bake for 40–45 minutes. Check with toothpick for doneness.
  5. Cool in pan for 20 minutes, then turn out onto wire rack.
  6. Mix 2 tbsp cinnamon with ¼ cup sugar.
  7. Brush cake with melted butter. Rub cinnamon sugar over entire cake.
  8. Slice and serve warm
