A Southern seafood feast with shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage—boiled in seasoned water and finished with butter and lemon.

Ingredients

For the Boil:

  • 4 quarts water

  • 34 tbsp Old Bay seasoning

  • 1 lemon, quartered

  • 1 lb baby red potatoes (halved if large)

  • 3 ears corn, cut into thirds

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced

  • lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on)

For Serving:

  • 4 tbsp melted butter

  • Chopped parsley

  • Lemon wedges

  • Extra Old Bay seasoning

  • Crusty bread

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a large stockpot. Add Old Bay and lemon. Boil 3–5 minutes.

  2. Add potatoes and boil for 10 minutes. Add corn and sausage, boil 5 minutes more.

  3. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes, until pink and opaque.

  4. Drain the pot, discard lemon, and spread everything on a platter or newspaper.

  5. Drizzle with melted butter, garnish with parsley and seasoning. Serve hot with lemon wedges and bread.
