The Old-Fashioned Custard Pie
A classic custard pie with simple ingredients and warm, comforting flavor—just like grandma used to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie shell (deep dish recommended)

  • 3 large eggs

  • ½ cup sugar

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 2â…” cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Slightly beat the eggs in a mixing bowl.

  3. Add sugar, salt, nutmeg, milk, and vanilla. Whisk until well blended.

  4. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell.

  5. Bake 35–40 minutes, or until set with a slight jiggle in the center.

  6. Remove and let cool to room temperature.

  7. Sprinkle additional nutmeg on top and serve.
