Ingredients
For the Steak:
- 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank), seasoned with salt & pepper π₯©

- 1 clove garlic, smashed π§

For the Horseradish Sauce:
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt π₯£
- 2 tbsp prepared horseradish πΆοΈ
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard πΏ
- 1 tsp lemon juice π
- Salt and pepper to taste π§
For the Sandwich:
- 4 sandwich rolls or crusty buns π₯
- Handful of arugula or lettuce π±
- Optional: caramelized onions, cheese, or tomato π π§ π§
Instructions
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness and doneness preference. Add butter, garlic, and herbs during the last minute to baste for extra flavor. Let rest, then slice thinly.
In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, horseradish, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. Adjust horseradish to taste.
Lightly butter the sandwich rolls and toast them until golden and crisp.
Spread horseradish sauce generously on the bottom half of each roll. Add a layer of arugula, sliced steak, and any optional toppings. Top with the other half of the roll and serve hot.
