Ingredients
- 1 lb ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak 🥩
- Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
- 1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
- 4 slices crusty bread (ciabatta or sourdough work great) 🥖
Herb Butter:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened 🧈
- 1 clove garlic, minced 🧄
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped 🌿
- 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary 🌱
- Salt to taste 🧂
Instructions
In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, herbs, and salt until combined. Set aside.
Season steak generously with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear steak 3-4 mins per side for medium-rare or until desired doneness. Rest 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
Toast bread slices until golden and crisp. Optionally, spread a bit of herb butter on bread while toasting for extra flavor.
Layer sliced steak on one bread slice, top with herb butter and second slice. Press gently.
Slice and enjoy immediately for maximum flavor and juiciness.
