When it comes to comfort food that’s rich, tender, and loaded with flavor, few dishes can compete with Slow Cooker Beef Brisket. This fall-apart, melt-in-your-mouth brisket is slow-cooked to perfection, allowing the deep, smoky, and savory flavors to develop over time.

Ingredients

For the Brisket:

  • 3-4 lb beef brisket
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Dry Rub:

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Brisket

  1. Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving about ¼ inch for flavor.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the dry rub ingredients together.
  3. Rub the olive oil all over the brisket, then coat generously with the dry rub, pressing it into the meat.

Step 2: Sear for Maximum Flavor (Optional but recommended!)

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil.
  2. Sear the brisket for 2-3 minutes per side until a golden-brown crust forms.
  3. Transfer the brisket to the slow cooker.

Step 3: Make the Sauce & Slow Cook

  1. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and honey.
  2. Pour the sauce over the brisket in the slow cooker.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours or HIGH for 5-6 hours, until the brisket is fall-apart tender.

Step 4: Rest & Slice

  1. Transfer the brisket to a cutting board and let it rest for 10-15 minutes to keep it juicy.
  2. Slice against the grain for tender pieces.
  3. Spoon the sauce from the slow cooker over the brisket for extra moisture.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Serve warm with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, coleslaw, or in sandwiches.
  2. Drizzle extra sauce over the top and enjoy this tender, flavor-packed brisket!
