Made with crispy crackers, buttery toffee, melted chocolate, and crunchy toppings, every bite is crispy, caramelized, and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve (about 40) saltine crackers
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • ½ tsp sea salt flakes (optional, for garnish)
  • ½ cup chopped pecans, almonds, or toffee bits (optional, for crunch)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Baking Sheet

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, then spray lightly with nonstick spray.
  3. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire pan.

Step 2: Make the Toffee

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in brown sugar.
  2. Bring to a gentle boil and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbling.
  3. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.

Step 3: Bake & Melt the Chocolate

  1. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 5 minutes, allowing the toffee to soak into the crackers.
  2. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  3. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.

Step 4: Add Toppings & Chill

  1. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes, chopped nuts, or toffee bits for extra crunch.
  2. Let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 1 hour until set.

Step 5: Break & Serve

  1. Once fully hardened, break the toffee into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Enjoy immediately or store for later!
