Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

A Delectable Fusion of Philly Cheesesteak and Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan.
  4. Layer the provolone cheese slices over the meat, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Cover with the remaining meat mixture, pressing the edges to seal the cheese inside.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Pour this sauce over the meatloaf.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is fully cooked through.
  8. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
