Monte Cristo Sliders

There’s something undeniably magical about turning classic comfort foods into delightful, bite-sized meals, and these Monte Cristo Sliders are the perfect example of that! Inspired by the traditional Monte Cristo sandwich, these sliders are the ideal blend of savory and sweet, making them an instant hit for any gathering or casual family meal. Whether you’re hosting a brunch, a game-day party, or just want something indulgent to enjoy at home, these sliders will impress both adults and kids alike. With the combination of ham, turkey, Swiss cheese, and a touch of sweetness from the powdered sugar and optional jam, they’re a fun twist on a favorite that everyone loves.

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices deli-sliced ham
  • 12 slices deli-sliced turkey
  • 12 slices deli-sliced Swiss cheese
  • ⅓ cup (76 g) salted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon powdered sugar
  • Optional dip: raspberry or strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by spraying it with non-stick spray.
  2. Without separating the rolls, slice the entire package in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in the prepared baking pan.
  3. Layer half of the Swiss cheese slices onto the rolls. Then, add all the ham slices followed by all the turkey slices. Place the remaining Swiss cheese slices on top of the meat layers.
  4. Cover the sliders with the top halves of the rolls.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the sliders.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown. If the tops begin to brown too quickly, cover them loosely with tented tin foil to prevent burning.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle the tops of the sliders with powdered sugar.
  8. Serve with raspberry or strawberry jam on the side for dipping, if desired.

Notes

Enjoy these warm and melty sliders with the sweet and savory flavors of the classic Monte Cristo sandwich!
