For the Pasta & Topping:
- 12 oz spaghetti noodles, cooked & drained
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (to coat the pasta)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella (for topping)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Meat Sauce
- In a large skillet or pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Drain excess grease, then add spaghetti sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 2: Cook the Spaghetti
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti until al dente (usually 1-2 minutes less than package instructions).
- Drain the pasta and toss with melted butter to keep it from sticking.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Cheese Filling
- In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, ricotta (or cottage cheese), shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and egg.
- Stir until smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Assemble the Casserole
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread half of the cooked spaghetti evenly in the dish.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the pasta.
- Add the remaining spaghetti on top of the cheese layer.
- Pour the meat sauce over everything, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Step 5: Bake & Serve
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 10 more minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm!
