Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, cocoa, flour, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
- Fold in the chopped nuts if using.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Check at the 20-minute mark to ensure they do not overcook. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the butter, milk, cocoa, powdered sugar, and salt until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled brownies.
