Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk (or plant-based milk) 🥛
- 4 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped 🍫
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫
- 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste) 🍬
- 1 tbsp cornstarch 🌽
- Pinch of salt 🧂
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shavings, cinnamon 🌟
Instructions
In a saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
Gradually add milk, whisking to combine. Heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
Add chopped chocolate and stir until fully melted and mixture is smooth.
Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes. It should coat the back of a spoon.
Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream or chocolate shavings. Serve immediately and enjoy!
