Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 onion, finely diced

  • 4 pounds potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

  • Salt and pepper

  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded (about 2 cups)

  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed Cheddar Cheese soup

  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk

  • ½ cup milk

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  3. Layer ¼ of the potato slices in the dish. Season with salt and pepper. Top with ¼ of the beef, then ¼ of the cheese. Repeat this process three more times.

  4. In a bowl, whisk together cheddar soup, evaporated milk, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour evenly over the layers.

  5. Cover tightly with foil. Bake for 1 hour.

  6. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes, until potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
