Ingredients
- 2 Granny Smith apples
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 1 stick butter
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 canned biscuits (Pillsbury buttermilk recommended)
- 4 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Peel, core, and slice apples vertically into 8 slices each. Cover with cold water.
- In a saucepan, combine water, 3/4 cup sugar, butter, and vanilla. Bring to a boil.
- Separate biscuits in half. Wrap each around an apple slice, overlapping and sealing the dough.
- Place sealed-side down in a 9×13″ baking pan.
- Pour hot sugar mixture over wrapped apples.
- Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle over the top.
- Bake 35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
