Ingredients

1 cup long grain white rice (uncooked)

1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup

1 can (10.5 oz) beef consommé or beef broth

½ cup unsalted butter, sliced

1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional)

Salt & black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley or grated cheese (optional, for garnish)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking dish (8×8 or similar).

Combine rice, soups, and sliced onions (if using) in the dish. Stir well.

Place butter slices evenly over the top of the mixture.

Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove foil and bake an additional 25–30 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Rest for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork. Garnish and serve.
