Crockpot Angel Chicken

It’s called “Angel Chicken” because it’s heavenly creamy and best served over angel hair pasta, but you can pair it with your favorite sides. Set it and forget it in the slow cooker, and by dinnertime, you’ll have an irresistibly rich and comforting meal ready to serve!

Ingredients

Ingredients (Serves 4-6)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix (for flavor)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (for extra creaminess)
  • ½ cup sour cream or heavy cream (for richness)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Angel hair pasta or mashed potatoes, for serving
  • Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken & Sauce

  • Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  • In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, sour cream, chicken broth, Italian dressing mix, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.

2. Pour & Cook

  • Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and shreds easily.

3. Shred & Serve

  • Once cooked, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker or serve it whole.
  • Stir the sauce well so it’s extra creamy and coats the chicken perfectly.
  • Serve over angel hair pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes, and garnish with fresh parsley or thyme.

Notes

Tips for the Best Angel Chicken

✅ Use fresh or frozen chicken – Both work great, but fresh cooks faster.
✅ Want extra flavor? – Add ½ teaspoon onion powder or smoked paprika.
✅ Make it even richer – Stir in ¼ cup Parmesan cheese before serving.
✅ Prefer a thicker sauce? – Mix in 1 tablespoon cornstarch to thicken.
✅ Shred or keep whole – Both ways taste amazing!
