- 2 large croissants π₯
- 2 chicken breasts or 4 chicken tenders π
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste π§
- 1 cup oil for frying
- ΒΌ cup mayonnaise or aioli π₯
- 1 cup fresh greens π₯¬
Instructions
1. Marinate Chicken
Soak the chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. This tenderizes the meat and adds flavor.
2. Prepare Breading
Mix flour with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture.
3. Fry Chicken
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 4β6 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
4. Toast Croissants
Lightly toast the croissants for added texture and warmth.
5. Assemble Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise or aioli on the bottom half of each croissant. Add greens, crispy chicken, and any other toppings. Close with the top half of the croissant.
