- 2 cups whole milk (or almond, oat, or coconut milk for dairy-free)
- ½ cup heavy cream (for extra creaminess, optional)
- ⅓ cup sugar (or honey/maple syrup for a natural alternative)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup raisins (optional)
- Extra cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Rice
- In a medium saucepan, combine rice, milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 2: Simmer Until Creamy
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring often.
- Once the rice is soft and creamy, remove from heat.
Step 3: Add Vanilla & Raisins
- Stir in vanilla extract and raisins (if using).
- Let the pudding rest for 5 minutes before serving.
