  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 32 Ritz crackers, crushed
  • ½ cup chopped onion

  • 1 lb ground pork (or use all beef if preferred)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

For the Glaze:

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
  3. Stir in crushed Ritz crackers, chopped onions, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Add the ground beef and ground pork and mix gently until just combined.

Step 2: Shape & Bake

  1. Transfer the mixture into the loaf pan, shaping it evenly.
  2. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.

Step 3: Make the Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.
  2. After 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the glaze evenly over the top.
  3. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 4: Rest & Serve

  1. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  2. Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or green beans for a classic homestyle meal.
