CLASSIC CHERRY DELIGHT

Ingredients

For the Graham Cracker Crust:

  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (about 9 whole crackers)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (or Cool Whip for a shortcut)

For the Cherry Topping:

  • 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling

How to Make Classic Cherry Delight

Step 1: Make the Graham Cracker Crust

  1. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar.
  2. Press the mixture firmly into a 9×9-inch or 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Place in the fridge to chill while preparing the filling.

Step 2: Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling

  1. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.

Step 3: Assemble the Dessert

  1. Spread the cream cheese layer evenly over the graham cracker crust.
  2. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading evenly.

Step 4: Chill & Serve

  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to allow the layers to set.
  2. Slice into squares and serve chilled.

How to Store Cherry Delight

🍒 Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
🍒 Freezer: You can freeze Cherry Delight without the cherry topping for up to 2 months. Just thaw and add the cherries before serving!
