Cinnamon Muffins

There’s nothing quite like the aroma of freshly baked muffins, especially when they’re infused with the warm, comforting scent of cinnamon. These cinnamon muffins are the perfect treat to brighten your morning or to pair with a mid-afternoon coffee break. Simple yet irresistibly delicious, they’re easy to make and even easier to love.

Ingredients

  • 1 1⁄2 cups flour
  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1⁄2 cup milk
  • 1⁄3 cup butter, melted

Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (204 degrees Celsius). Prepare your muffin cups by greasing them or lining them with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and allspice.
  3. In another bowl, mix the beaten egg, milk, and melted butter.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until everything is moistened.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  7. While the muffins are baking, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a small bowl.
  8. Once the muffins are done, brush the tops with melted butter while they are still warm, then dip each top into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Allow the muffins to cool slightly in the pan before removing them to cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Enjoy your delightful cinnamon muffins with a steaming cup of coffee or your favorite tea, and relish in the simple pleasures of homemade baking!
