Ingredients
-
- 20–25 grapes, washed and completely dried
-
- 2 cups white sugar
-
- Β½ cup water
-
- ΒΌ cup light corn syrup
-
- White gel food coloring
-
- Other gel colors of your choice (neon pink and sky blue suggested)
-
- 2 teaspoons flavored oil (e.g., vanilla or citrus)
-
- Sprinkles for decorating (optional)
Instructions
Prep: Begin by inserting a skewer into each grape and setting them aside. This makes for easy dipping and serving.
Cook: In a saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and light corn syrup. Cook over medium to high heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches 300Β°F (149Β°C) on a candy thermometer. This is the hard crack stage, perfect for creating a candy shell.
Color: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the white gel food coloring along with your chosen flavored oil. For a festive touch, add 3-4 drops of other gel colors and gently swirl to create a marbled effect.
Coat: Dip each grape into the candy mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. If desired, roll the coated grapes in sprinkles for extra color and fun.
Dry: Place the candy-coated grapes on parchment paper or a silicone mat to dry for about 15 minutes. For quicker results, you can refrigerate them for 10 minutes.
Serve: Once the candy coating has set, serve your Candy Grapes as a colorful and sweet treat at your holiday festivities!
