Ingredients
For the Cherry Syrup:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped
- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for warmth)
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup water
For the Earl Grey Milk Tea:
- 2 Earl Grey tea bags
- 1 cup hot water
- ½ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy: oat, almond, or coconut)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
For Serving:
- Ice cubes (for iced version)
- Fresh cherries for garnish
- Cinnamon stick (optional, for stirring and aroma)
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Cherry Syrup
- In a small saucepan, combine chopped cherries, honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, vanilla, and water.
- Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, mashing the cherries as they soften.
- Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids. Set aside.
Step 2: Brew the Earl Grey Tea
- Steep Earl Grey tea bags in hot water for 5 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool slightly.
Step 3: Prepare the Milk
- Warm the milk for a hot latte OR chill it for an iced tea.
Step 4: Assemble & Serve
For Hot Cherry Earl Grey Milk Tea:
- Pour cherry syrup into a mug.
- Add brewed Earl Grey tea and stir.
- Steam or froth the milk and pour over the tea.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick and fresh cherries.
For Iced Cherry Earl Grey Milk Tea:
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Add cherry syrup and brewed Earl Grey tea.
- Pour in chilled milk, stirring to combine.
- Garnish with fresh cherries and a cinnamon stick.
