Ingredients
- 1 (18 oz) box fudge brownie mix (plus ingredients to make according to directions; homemade brownie recipe optional)
- 1 cup chocolate frosting
- 3 cups chocolate melting wafers (see notes for alternatives)
- Sprinkles (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare brownies according to package directions or your favorite brownie recipe for an 8″ x 8″ pan and let cool completely. These can be made the day before.
- Break the cooled brownies into large chunks and place them in a large bowl or stand mixer. Mix until crumbled and all large pieces are gone.
- Add the chocolate frosting to the crumbled brownies and mix well until fully combined.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
- Using a medium cookie scoop, portion out the brownie mixture and roll into balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. (The mixture should be soft but not sticky. If it’s too sticky, refrigerate for 30 minutes before shaping.)
- Melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe glass, heating at 30-second intervals and stirring between each interval until melted.
- Drop the brownie balls into the melted chocolate and use a spoon to coat them fully. Use a fork to remove each ball from the chocolate, tapping to remove any excess chocolate. Use a toothpick or fork to slide the balls off onto the baking sheet.
- Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with sprinkles or allow the chocolate to set slightly, then drizzle with additional melted chocolate.
- Let the brownie balls set at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.
