Fluffy, Golden, and Buttery — A Morning Favorite Everyone Loves

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
  • 1 tbsp sugar 🍬
  • 1 tbsp baking powder 🥄
  • 1 tsp salt 🧂
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk 🥛
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted 🧈

 


Instructions

1. Preheat and Prep

Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Pour melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish.

2. Mix the Dough

In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add buttermilk and stir until combined. Dough will be sticky and soft.

3. Add to Butter

Pour dough directly into the butter-filled dish. Gently spread to edges. Score dough into 9 squares with a knife.

4. Bake to Perfection

Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown on top and set in the center.

5. Cool and Serve

Let cool slightly. Slice along score lines and serve warm with your favorite toppings.
