Blackberry Crumble

Ingredients

Filling:

  • 4 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)

  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Crumble Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.

  2. In a bowl, toss blackberries with sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Spread into dish.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

  4. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly (pea-sized chunks).

  5. Sprinkle topping over the berries—don’t press down.

  6. Bake 35–40 minutes, until top is golden and filling is bubbling.

  7. Let rest 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or cold.
