Ingredients
-
1 pound sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
-
1 pound small red potatoes, quartered
-
3 tablespoons butter
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
That’s it! With just six ingredients (plus salt and pepper), you can create a skillet dinner that feels anything but basic.
Instructions
This recipe is easy enough for beginners, but satisfying enough to impress any steak lover.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and cook until browned on both sides—about 2–3 minutes per side.
🔔 Tip: Avoid crowding the pan. Cook the steak in batches if needed to ensure a nice sear.
Once browned, remove the steak from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
In the same skillet, add the quartered red potatoes. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and golden brown—about 8–10 minutes.
If the pan is dry, add a splash of olive oil or a pat of butter to keep things moving.
Once the potatoes are cooked, lower the heat slightly and add the 3 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir continuously for 1–2 minutes, until the butter is melted and the garlic is fragrant but not burned.
Return the steak strips to the skillet and toss everything together to coat in the garlic butter. Cook for another 1–2 minutes, just to reheat the steak and marry the flavors.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and herbaceous freshness.
Serve hot, straight from the skillet, and enjoy!
