- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with 1 Β½ cups sugar until pale yellow and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add eggs: Mix in the eggs until fully incorporated.
- Combine with dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture, Β½ cup at a time, until the dough comes together smoothly.
- Prepare cinnamon sugar coating: In a small bowl, mix the remaining Β½ cup sugar with the cinnamon.
- Shape and coat dough balls: Roll the dough into 1 ΒΎ inch balls and roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Arrange on baking sheet: Place the dough balls about 3 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 9-10 minutes. Keep an eye on them, as baking times may vary. The edges should be slightly golden while the centers remain soft.
Notes
- Variations: For a little holiday twist, add a touch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar or sprinkle a hint of cardamom for a unique flavor.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- Healthier option: Replace ΒΌ cup of the butter with applesauce for a lighter option.
